COUNTY LEAGUES
The County league program is drawing to a conclusion but many matters remain to be resolved.
In the West three teams remain in what for much of the season has been a four way battle for the title. Holmans used their game in hand to good effect claiming all six points against Mabe Granites to move four points ahead of Newlyn Trinity Jowsters. Penzance Comets maintain a mathematical chance. The title looks set to go down to the last week when Newlyn Trinity Jowsters travel to fourth place Helston Grylls and current leaders Holmans travel to Penzance. Illogan have secured back to back promotions by winning Division One, any one of five clubs could still join them in the Premier Division next season. Marazion Swifts have long been confirmed as Division Two winners but any one of 7 other teams could still join them in Division One next year.
The Central Area title is down to two teams with Withiel Oaks holding a 1 point lead over Ladock Chiefs. In this final week of fixtures Ladock play first when they visit relegation threatened St Newlyn East on Monday night with Withiel Oaks travelling to third placed Treviscoe Whites on Thursday night. St Agnes Cuckoos and Withiel Elms have secured promotion from Division One and play each other at Withiel on Thursday night in a match which will determine first and second place.
Dobwalls have claimed the East area title after a solid season where they have dropped just 15 out of a possible 84 points. Lanreath need just a single point on Wednesday at Callington Falcons to secure the Division One title, should they however fail to score Rilla Mill will have an opportunity to snatch the title on Thursday when they travel to bottom placed Callington Hawks.
