INTER COUNTY RINKS
The CCSMBA has issued a statement regarding this season's Inter County Rinks competition.

"The CCSMBA have regretfully had to inform the ESMBA that Cornwall will not take their place in the ICC Rinks finals following the change of date for the competition.  A number of our players have prior commitments for the new date in April, with some having already booked into the SMPT World Masters event and others unavailable for various other reasons.

A letter has been sent to the ESMBA to confirm our withdrawal, to get clarification on the circumstances of the postponement and also to get clarification on the future of the ICC Rinks, in particular whether rule 2 of the competition's rules regarding the qualifying stages being held in local regions, which was not followed by the ESMBA this season, will be followed in the future.

We have also expressed players' concerns about the ever increasing number of unnecessary date clashes in the calendar, meaning players are not able to take part in every competition they would like, as they have done in previous years.

We look forward to receiving a prompt reply from the ESMBA."

Since releasing this statement the Devon County Short Mat Bowling Bowls Association have also announced their intention to withdraw from the competition.
