Peter Hamley's team from Lostwithiel beat M. Thomas' team from Hayle by 9 shots to 2, and Peter Hore's team from Holmans beat Max Burden's team from Dobwalls by a close 5 shots to 3.

In the final Peter Hore's team played well to beat Peter Hamley's team by 7 shots to 3.

The players and spectators were treated to excellent lunches and continuous refreshments throughout the day, prepared by the committee members. A large raffle helped to boost the funds with prizes being donated by the participating teams and members of the committee.

All in all a most enjoyable day was had by everyone.

The Marazion Committee for Handicapped Children raise thousands of pounds every year, and all the proceeds of their efforts are donated to various local projects involving children with special needs.

The Committee would like to thank Barclays Bank for their continued generous donations over several years as part of their community investment programme which exceeded £52 Million in 2008. They would also like to thank the Marazion Community Centre, Marazion Indoor Bowling Club and the bowlers themselves for all their help and support of this worthy cause.
