Cornwall's 21 Short Mat Bowls clubs who have met the English Short Mat Bowls Association's (ESMBA) 'Safe Club' status have seen further changes to the limitations within which they can offer bowling sessions following Cornwall being moved into Tier 3 restrictions from New Years Eve.
Approved clubs can now offer the following
Affiliated members from family and support bubbles can play in an approved pairs format on each rink mat.
Supervised bowling for affiliated members under 18 and/or Disability specific short mat bowls is allowed to continue to operate.
There shall be no games played with different households or support bubbles.
SHORT MAT PLAYERS TOUR
The Short Mat Players Tour have announced a provisional calendar of events for the 2021/22 season.
In a post of the SMPT website they stated
'We are delighted to announce the provisional dates for the 2021/22 SMPT season.
We stress that these dates remain provisional at this moment in time, especially due to the current situation and we shall be in constant contact with the venues and liaising directly with them as this fluid situation changes.
Each event listed will be confirmed, if viable and completely safe to do so, as we move through the year and with this in mind we will be making some adjustments to our entry procedures.
* The opening of entries date for each event will be announced on our website and social media channels individually and much closer to each event than normal.
* No postal entries will be accepted for this season.
* A minimum number of entries will be advised for each event and this figure must be reached to allow the event to proceed.
* Any relevant entry restrictions will be published immediately prior to entries opening on each specific event page on our website.
* Covid-19 refund Guarantee - For peace of mind, any player who is unable to attend an event due to Covid-19 restrictions put in place either locally or at the venue site, between entry and the event itself will be guaranteed a refund of their entry fees less admin cost of £2.50.
* All other SMPT terms and conditions apply as normal.
