Troon Short Mat Bowling Club, now in its 10th year, celebrated its anniversary by holding a very successful and well-attended bowls drive evening at Treslothan Church Hall.
The winners were Linda Martin (women) and Alan Hampton (men).At the club's annual meeting, secretary Peter Warren reported a successful season with the Tryers and the Miners, both in the Premier Division, finishing fourth and sixth respectively; Pendarves, in division two, finished sixth; and the Leats (afternoon Triples league) finished in ninth position.
The Summer League team is looking forward to an enjoyable and competitive season. David Studden, Joe Coups and Bob Williams combined to win the county two and four wood pairs and triples. David Studden, Joe Coups, Peter and Ann Warren represented Cornwall and the West Area Division. Gerry Fisher also represented the West Area Division.
The outgoing chairman and club founder member, Una Prideaux, was thanked for her help and guidance in running the club over the last 10 years and was presented with a bouquet of flowers as a mark of appreciation.
The club donated £100 towards the Precious Lives Appeal.
