FUTURE OF SHORT MAT BOWLS IN CORNWALL

The CCSMBA Committee has reiterated its plea for members to come forward to assist with running the association.  Currently the 15 roles on the County Committee are being fulfilled by 9 committee members to ensure the association's activities can continue but the situation is unsustainable beyond the end of the current season.

In a statement issued by the management committee on Sunday 16th January, the committee stated
'Regretfully, without volunteers in these roles, the Management Committee will have no option but to scale back some of the CCSMBA's activities, for example:
  • No entry of either County Team into the Inter County Championships
  • No East Area League for 2022-23
  • Cancellation of the Annual Presentation Luncheon.
The Management Committee reserves the right to take further action as appropriate in order to ensure the Association can continue to operate effectively.'
