CORNWALL COUNTY SHORT MAT BOWLING ASSOCIATION
NEWS RELEASE 16 DECEMBER 2018

COUNTY SINGLES
Over the weekend the County Singles was played at Carnmoggas.  On both days competition was organised on a Round Robin basis followed by a single knockout round to get down to four qualifiers from each day.

Saturday saw 25 players competing.  The top two from each group were

Group 1:
D Balow (Marazion) 4 +16 Q
S Williamson (Luxulyan) 4 +5

Group 2:
A Holden (Landrake) 6 +22 Q
B Smith (Praa Sands) 4 +9

Group 3:
C Beale (Withiel) 6 +44 Q
R Hailey (St Newlyn East) 4 -6

Group 4:
P Hore (Holmans) 6 +31 Q
G Risdon (Lanteglos) 4 +14 Q

Group 5:
T Smith (Luxulyan) 6 +16 Q
M Albon (Luxulayn) 4 +7

Group 6:
J Worton (St Newlyn East) 6 +13 Q
L Jolly (Withiel) 4 +11 Q

Knockout Scores:

On Sunday 21 players competed.  The top two from each group were.

Group 1:
N Nicholls (Newlyn Trinity) 6 +18 Q
M Boraston (Duloe) 2 +7

Group 2:
C Stanley (St Newlyn East) 4 +14 Q
T Pollard (Holmans) 4 +10 Q
(C Roberts (Ladock) also 4 +10, Pollard qualified by winning head to head game 14-3). 

Group 3:
M Payne (Penlee) 6 +15 Q
P Tripp (Newlyn Trinity) 4 +15 Q

Group 4:
H McCormack (Penlee) 4 +2 Q
T Liddicoat (Withiel) 4 + 2
(McCormack qualified by winning head to head game 16-8)

Group 5:
K Matthews (Blisland) 6 +37 Q
D Pengelly (Landrake) 4 +9 Q
