NEWS RELEASE – 27 November 2011
NATIONAL QUALIFIERS
On Saturday the first day of National Championship Qualifiers were played at Ladock Village Hall.
The Fours were played first with the top two places decided on the final match which saw Elise Daniell, Nicholas Truscott (Holmans), Nigel Nicholls (Newlyn Trinity) & Peter Hore (Holmans) take a 13-5 win against Alan Holden (Landrake), Karen Watson (Treviscoe), Dennis Shorthouse & Neil Gribble (Landrake) to claim a place at the National Championships on Saturday 31 March.
During the afternoon attention turned to the Singles with 10 players competing. Drawn into one group of four and two of three, players competed in a round robin competition in a bid to progress to a four player knockout. Qualifying from Group One were Peter Hore (Holmans) with an unbeaten 6 points +38 shots, joining him in the semi finals was Elise Daniell (Holmans) with 2 -7. Karen Watson (Treviscoe) claimed Group Two with 4 +10 and Nicholas Truscott (Holmans) recorded 4 +5 in winning Group Three.
In the Semi Finals Peter took a comfortable 12-3 win against Nicholas with an end to spare whilst Karen claimed a hard earned victory against Elise winning 13-10. Karen went onto win the Final 10-5 from Peter to claim a spot at the National Championships on Thursday 29 March.
COUNTY SINGLES
Over the forthcoming weekend the qualification competition for the County Singles will be contested at Fowey Community Leisure Centre with play getting underway at 9am on both days.

INTER AREA LEAGUE
On Saturday (19 November) the second round of Inter Area League matches were played at Fowey Community Leisure Centre.
The West Area dominated there match against the North with a 37 points and 257 shots to 3 points and 106 shots win, the largest margin of victory in the history of the competition.

On Saturday (26 November) The qualification competitions for the National Singles and Fours will be played at Ladock Village Hall with play starting early at 8.30. Ten players will compete in the Singles and 16 in the Fours all chasing a place in the ESMBA National Championship at Kempton Indoor Bowls Club, Bedford at the end of March.
