2011 cornwall sports awards – further chance to nominate!
The closing date for nominations to the 2011 Cornwall Sports Awards has now been extended to Wednesday September 7.
The prestigious county event will be staged at the Atlantic Hotel in Newquay on Friday November 11. Now in its sixth year, the event has been designed by the Cornwall Sports Partnership to recognise and honour the contributions made by dedicated sports coaches, officials, clubs, organisations, volunteers and young leaders from across the county.
The event has grown every year since it started in 2006 and is now a key date in the Cornish sports calendar. This year’s ceremony has been designed to build on the success of last year’s event and the Sports Partnership has already received a good number of high quality nominations.
Organiser Natasha Howard explains: “Although we’ve already received a fantastic amount of nominations for the Awards, there are still a number of sports that haven’t yet received the recognition we’d expected. That’s why we thought we’d give people a little more time to get their nominations in!”
