CORNWALL COUNTY SHORT MAT BOWLING ASSOCIATION
NEWS RELEASE 21 September 2014

Cornwall face the first match of the English Short Mat Bowling Association Inter County Championship on Sunday with Devon the visitors to Carnmoggas Indoor Bowling Club.

Team Manager Nigel Nicholls along with captains Peter Hore and Max Burden have named a squad which sees several changes from last year including six debutantes.

The Premier team named is Nigel Nicholls (Newlyn Trinity), Richard Kerr (Landrake), Elise Daniell (Holmans), Luke Jolly (Treviscoe), David Balow (Marazion), David Studden (Holmans), Dennis Shorthouse (Landrake), Martin Boraston (Dobwalls), Gillian Cawrse (Lostwithiel), Keith Williams (Penlee), Kevin Williams (Porthleven), Nicholas Truscott (Holmans), Richard Brown (Ladock), Ken Horrell (Withiel), Chris Roberts (Ladock), Percy Tripp (Helston), Tom Westlake (Lanjeth), Gary Davey (Landrake), Neil Gribble (Landrake) & Peter Hore (Holmans).

The A team is Graham Reeves (Saltash), Alan Holden (Lanjeth), Diane Williams (Penlee), Martin Williams (Penlee), Betty Temple-Smith (Luxulyan), Max Burden (Blisland), Meg Horrell (Withiel), Joe Dixon (Withiel), Keith Matthews (Blisland), Ruth Newbury (Wadebridge), Tony Jago (Treviscoe), Carolyn Stanley (Treviscoe), Graham Luke (Ladock), Carol Ford (St Newlyn East), Pam Williams (St Newlyn East), Brian Wakeley (Ladock), Henry Matthews (Blisland), Bill Sharp (Dobwalls), Brenda Sleep (Dobwalls) & Derek Newton (Dobwalls).

The match gets underway at 11.00 with play scheduled through to around 15.30 and spectators are welcome throughout the day.
