View this email in your browser Cornwall County Short Mat Bowling Association News Release - 3 September 2017 County Team The main Short Mat Bowls season gets underway in Cornwall on Sunday (17th September) with the annual county team trials at Carnmoggas when invited bowlers will play for one of the 40 places available in one of the county Premier or A teams to face Somerset at Donyatt Indoor Bowling Club a week later on the 24th.  Players selected will have an additional practice day at Carnmoggas on Saturday 23rd September. Short Mat Players Tour Peter Hore, Elise Daniell and Nigel Nicholls travel to Belfast this weekend to take part in the Short Mat Players Tour Irish Open competition which features a full entry of 192 bowlers from 10 countries. Peter is drawn in Group 5 with five Irish bowlers including Stuart McSorley who finished fourth in the recent UK Open.  Elise will lines up in Group 10 against 4 Irish and 1 Welsh bowler.  Nigel faces Devon's James Trott and 4 Irish bowlers in Group 13. County Competition Entries In response to requests from members the closing date for entering County Competitions has been put back this year to the 30th September.  Details are with club secretary's and available on the CCSMBA website at www.ccsmba.co.uk.
