Withiel Oaks established a strong position at the top of the West area table on Friday night with a 21-13 win at Newlyn against Nomads, also taking the bonus points for the aggregate win over two legs. Of their three remaining matches Withiel Oaks only face one of the top 4 teams, Drifters, and now look favourites to take the divisional title with a game in hand over the three teams behind.

The second phase is underway featuring the top two teams from each division in the first phase. Wanderers recorded a 38-8 win over Tintagel Heralds on Thursday and in the weeks other game Tintagel Heralds defeated Boscastle Bees 21-14.
